Welcome — I’m So Glad You’re Here

Hello! I’m Heather, a qualified teacher with a Master’s in Education, a PGCE, and many years of experience helping children succeed academically and emotionally. I offer personalised online lessons in English language, literacy, and UK curriculum support — always delivered with patience, encouragement, and care.

Every child deserves to feel confident and capable — and that’s at the heart of everything I do. Every lesson I teach focusses on building confidence, independence, and a love of learning.

Please see below for more information, and feel free to contact me if you need any help.

My Taught Subjects

I am happy to teach all areas of the EYFS and UK Primary National Curriculum, as well as English lessons for speakers of other languages. For example:

  • English Language lessons for speakers of other languages (ESL / EAL): I can support kids and teens to build their skills and confidence in reading, writing, grammar, and spoken English. I can provide Cambridge English test preparation lessons (A1-B2), structured ESL English lessons, and conversational English classes.
  • Phonics and Literacy lessons (reading and writing): I can support children to feel confident and capable with learning to read, using fun and hands on activities for letter recognition, sight reading, and phonological awareness. I have taught Phonics in the UK from Phase 1 right the way to Phase 6 and reading fluency. I am also happy to adapt my content to suit different schemes your child might be learning in school. I am also able to teach learners writing skills, from early writing and mark making through to creative writing and persuasive writing. Writing is a particular passion of mine!
  • Personal, Social, Health and Economic Education, and Emotional Wellbeing Lessons: I was the Lead Teacher for PSHE in my previous school, and I was responsible for the provision for mental health and wellbeing of both students and staff members. These areas are great passions for me, and I can teach a range of topics, such as financial management, relationships with others, and health advice.

I speak a basic level of Italian, and I am happy to work with Italian students in a mixture of Italian and English. However, as my Italian is still developing, my preference is for teaching in English only when addressing more complex topics.

Please contact me if there is a specific subject or area that your child needs support with which is not mentioned above, as I am open to teaching a range of topics.
